Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Book42 stores your library data locally on your device. If you enable cloud sync, your library data is uploaded to Supabase, a third-party cloud platform, to make it available across devices. We process only information you provide directly in the app, including book metadata, reading status, notes, ratings, and profile data needed for account access.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used only to provide Book42 features, including local catalog management, optional sync, and account-related functionality. We do not sell personal data.

3. Data Storage and Security

Local library data is stored on your device. If cloud sync is enabled, data is stored on Supabase-backed infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.

4. Third-Party Services

Book42 may use third-party services:

Google Books API for metadata lookup
Open Library API for metadata lookup
Google Sign-In for optional authentication
Supabase for optional cloud sync and account services

Each service is governed by its own privacy policy.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete all local data at any time from Library Management → Wipe Library. To also remove your data from Supabase, wipe your local library first, then run a sync — the deletion is propagated to the cloud during sync.
