Folder-first browsing with memory

A folder-based workflow should not mean starting over every time a file is renamed or moved inside the app. Pix42 stores each observed file in a local SQLite catalog with a stable asset ID, then uses that identity to keep related state attached to the image.

That catalog is used by ratings, pick and reject flags, thumbnails, metadata cache, duplicate signatures, timeline entries, FITS stretch settings, and non-destructive adjustment state. The result is a lightweight library layer without forcing every folder into a managed import workflow.
